It’s Saturday 4th of July 2020, Day 8 of this years Bushey Virtual Festival.

Today we are focusing on local businesses.

On Friday 3rd July 2020 we  focused on Community, featuring a look at Shimrad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur UK, (SRMD UK), a Bushey based Registered Charity.

See our Facebook page for more.

On Thursday 2nd July, we looked at Spirituality and Wellbeing

Here’s a short video on the subject from Rev. Guy Edwards – Rector of Bushey:

On Wednesday 1st of July 2020, day 5 we celebrated Bushey People. We met some of the stars from our local community who have been volunteering during the pandemic lockdown.

On Tuesday 30th June 2020, we looked at the Arts in Bushey.

We have a rich history of art in Bushey, with Hubert von Herkomer establishing his Art School in 1883, and his former pupil Lucy Kemp-Welsh establishing her own school in 1905.

On Monday 29th July 2020 was Local Learning day.

We focused on Bushey Museum and Bushey Library.

Meanwhile, here’s another blast from the past….

On Sunday 28 July 2020, we virtually focused on animal events around Bushey.

On the last Sunday of the month, there would normally be a dog walk starting at the King Stag car park, taking in the Attenborough Field and the Woodland Trust land at Merry Hill. Hopefully these walks can resume soon.

Sadly the annual dog show in the King George park as well as its online version has had to be cancelled this year. Lets hope it will return soon.

Some good news though. Did you know you can walk with alpacas at Pages Farm in Elstree? See our Alpaca Walks page for details.

On Saturday 27th July 2020, we kicked off this years virtual festival with a look back!

As you know we sadly had to cancel this year’s festival however we are going to mark the festival week (26th Jun – 5th July) by holding a virtual festival. We will be posting memories of previous festival and promoting the performers, organisations and businesses that would have been at this year’s festival.

For traders, sponsors etc:

So – if you would like to share your plans for reopening, or tell us how you’ve remained open and what you’re offering or want to share a memory please contact us with links to information, photo’s, video’s etc and we will share them on our social media during the virtual festival week.

For performers:

We would like to share pictures and videos of your performances at the Festival and/or recent material, If you have any particular link to performances that you would like to share please send and we will share them on our social media during the virtual festival week.

Also, we would really like to get some original material for the virtual festival so if anyone is interested in recording a couple of songs just for us or even doing a facebook live event that we can link to during that week please let us know asap.

For Bushey based orgs:

Bushey Festival are curating a weekend called ‘Bushey is Open’, provisional date the 26th, 27th September 2020. This aims to celebrate the community and its resilience throughout the COVID-19 crisis. We will be promoting the businesses, organisations and creativity that make Bushey a great place to be and recognising those community stars who shone during these difficult times.

More details of how to get involved will be sent out soon

Additional for performers:

As part of the Bushey is Open weekend we want to have some live music performances. These will take place outdoors, in spaces where we can comply with social distancing and other restrictions that make it a safe event for performers and attendees. If you would like to perform at our event please let us know (we are able to offer a fee to performers). Further details will be available soon.
