The Bushey Trail

11.00 am – 2.00 pm. Details of the Bushey Family Trail can be downloaded Here. Alternatively, paper copies are available for collection from Bushey Library, and from St Peter’s Church.  Children, don’t forget to look out for special rocks along the way.
Please bear in mind that, during Festival week, the trail can be done any day, any time, but that certain events, such as the King Stag Barbeque and the Woodside Morris Dancers, wiil only be on Sunday 1st July. Also that the Library, the Church and the Museum will not always be open.

Dog Walk

10am-12noon King Stag Gastropub 15 Bournehall Rd Bushey WD23 3EH
Starting and finishing at the pub, voted East of England’s most dog friendly pub 2016 and runner up 2017. Free sausage for all dogs and free glass of Pimms for all humans joining the Walk (or alternative, soft drink for children) while stocks last. A competition, adjudicated by an external musician, open to members of the Upper Sixth who are proceeding to music college or university to read music. Designed to support the winner’s musical career, the award is a generous monetary prize, presented to the winner once they commence their undergraduate studies.

7 pm, Constance Pilkington Hall Purcell School
The Purcell Jazz Department play the music of flute virtuoso Gareth Lockrane. An award-winning musician, Gareth will be performing and directing the ensembles on the night. Joining him will be acclaimed tenor saxophonist Alex Garnett and Purcell alumnus Seth Tackaberry on bass.

Primary Schools’ Quiz Challenge

Teams of four from local primary schools compete for prizes and the Festival Cup. Questions cover the obvious and the not-so-obvious but all are good fun!

Bentley Priory Museum Tour

11am & 2pm Bentley Priory, Mansion House Drive, Stanmore HA7 3FB
In a beautiful Grade II listed Mansion House in Stanmore, Bentley Priory Museum tells one of the most important narratives of modern history. Bentley Priory was Headquarters Fighter Command during the Battle of Britain. Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the RAF, the Museum commemorates the aircrews who fought in the skies above Britain, without whose tireless work victory would not have been possible.

Author Event and Afternoon Tea

Author Jean Fullerton, a Londoner who worked as a district nurse in East London for over 25 years, has won multiple awards. All her books are set in her native East London. Her first series was set in the early 1800s but her most recent books about nurses Millie and Connie have jumped forward a century and are set at the end of WW2.
Her latest book, Pocket Full of Dreams, the first of her WW2 series features sisters Mattie, Jo and Cathy Brogan and their extended family.

An Evening of Jewish Food, Wine and Folklore

The Big Bushey Bike Ride 3

Depart from 8.30-10am King George Recreation Ground, Chiltern Ave, Bushey, WD23 4RF
Start and finish at King George Rec, choice of 2 routes: 50K or 32K.Both take riders into Herts and Bucks countryside. Riders responsible for ensuring their bikes are well-maintained. Online pre event entry £13:00. On day entry £15:00 includes insurance and admin fees. Head for the British Cycling website to enrol via www.britishcycling.org.uk
Under 18s must have completed parental consent form. Under 16s must be accompanied by parent/guardian.

Meeting point: Café in King George Recreation Ground.  Restricted parking at the Park.
